ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Troubleshooting is our newest short film - a dark comedy written by the films' director, Charlie Queen, and one of its stars, Andy Farmer. The movie was filmed over four days in May 2023, deep in the California desert with a microbudget of $16,000. The production was slated to be shot in the forests of Southern Illinois during the bleak February weather, but was cancelled last minute due to mechanical problems with the grip truck. A risky last minute decision was made to pivot the production to the desert outside of San Diego, ultimately salvaging the production and completely changing the context and look of the movie.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

"The cast and crew consisted of my family and some of my closest friends. This finished film represents the culmination of a year of planning and hard work, but mostly we just had a blast in the middle-of-nowhere, being creative and goofy together for four days. I'm so thrilled with how much fun and production value our crew was able to squeeze out of a really gorgeous but unforgiving landscape and a tiny budget."
